Fqwimages does slices of time images and photoshops them into one, it is like a time-lapse shots in one picture.
From Tom Hussey’s work, how you see a mirror reflection of the younger you; what you used to be, it made me think about how some people could waste their time or life doing something they should not or have no interest in.
This vine has influenced me to add graphics to my photographs. If I use graphics I would have to use a software called ‘Autodesk Sketchbook’ which I would use from my android device – Samsung Galaxy Note 4. This is because it is a professional sketching app, it lets me adjust the resolution and has features such as quick selection, layers, gradients ect, things that are available on Photoshop.
The way the vine was done was by shooting about 20-30 images of the lady getting out of bed, then these images were imported in a graphic software such as illustrator and traced over the images. Then the artwork was extracted in a animation software such as Adobe Flash and the art was placed on about 20 different keyframes, on top of the first image which is being ran throughout the whole vine.
This picture was taken from my work place – Newham Florist. It shows how I could use one picture, and make a story from it. I plan on using my place of work to tell a story of how you could waste your time when you could do something that will benefit you and your work.
My definition of time is that time is a precious gift; you have to respect it and make best use of it. The images I have taken show a talent in art, how with the gift of time, you can examine an object, gain better understanding and greater skills, which come with time.
Although the final work is different to what I planned, it is still created using the same technique, with slight changes. Due to having problems with my camera and needing to wait for my new camera to come on the same day the work was due in, I had limited time to follow my original idea; to shoot a series of images of my work colleague performing floristry duties such as preparing flowers for a bouquet, making the bouquet, wrapping the flowers, clearing the table, ect. This was impossible because of the time left.
But having my camera I still got to shoot pictures and still use the same technical ideas I had before. I followed my previous idea to use Photoshop and Autodesk Sketchbook on the Note4. This was a long process as every time I traced over an image, I had to import this sketch to Photoshop and mess around with the layers, also also I had to play around with the edges of the sketch each time due to using the magic wand to remove the background. Also to make it look realistic I had to use drop-shadow so the sketches look as if they were in the image.
One of the difficulties encountered was taking a picture with my hand in the frame, this was because the brightness would change automatically as soon as I had my hand in the frame – on the sketchbook. The solution to this was to change the brightness on Photoshop.
If I was to do this project again, I would be more prepared and have a plan B for everything – Such as the camera not coming on time as promised. I would be more prepared. I think my previous idea was easier to understand for the audience. But overall I think I have achieved what was planned even though there was a big change in plan.
